Default Video Capture

Like so many others it seems i have problems when attempting to capture my
video from my camera.
Whenever i go to do it it will work fine for up to 30 seconds then hang. I
have never been able to capture anymore than 30 seconds before this happens
I have a Toshiba A20 satellite 2.8GHz with a Trident CyberAladdin video
card. My camera is a Panasonic NV-GS70. I am using a Belkin Firewire Cardbus
adapter to connect the camera to my computer.
I have tried the WinDV application. I can view my video fine but as soon as
i click on the capture button it freezes after 00.00.02 seconds. The file
size of the video clip it does record before freezing is 873kb
