Default Trouble Saving - how to save in smaller sections

UUUGGGHHH! I know there are others out there that feel the same way! I have
just spent many hours putting my digital pictures into a storyboard with
transitions between each one and then I added music. The pictures are in
Jpeg files and the audio was changed to .wav. It plays great on the WMM
screen. Now, I go to save it to DVD and the problems arise.

First, I was getting no response from the save function - it would just sit
there. Next, I got the error message that others have received - I have a
new computer with plenty of RAM and virtual memory, all my files are still in
the collections where they started and now I am lost.

I have saved all my pictures to Bitmaps and when I put them into a
collection, none of them open up - I just get a cute little windows type
picture.

I would like to try and split the movie into sections, but I can not seem to
figure out how to select a section. I have clicked on a particular area and
tried to select sections, but nothing seems to be happening. So, this may be
a basic question, how do I do the first part -select a portion of the items
in the storyboard or timeline.

Thanks for any and all help!

The Problem Solving > Can't Save a Movie page of website includes a link to
my newsletter #8, which was about subdividing a project.
