i had a friend transfer from my analog 8mm camera to a cd-r disc ,small
clips,the clips play great on the disc and transfer to the computer just
fine,when i try to put them in the movier maker,only the audio loads ,no
video ,? is it because they are mpeg-2 files ?

yes. MM works best with WMV or dv-avi.
