Default Activemovie window pops up -- and it isn't subtitds.ax

Hello,
I've been having a problem for a while now where an Activemovie window will
pop up when I try to play certain videos. I looked in the FAQ, which
suggested disabling the subtitds.ax filter... problem is, I don't *have* the
subtitds.ax filter.
What else could it be?

Are the "certain videos" by chance ASF files?
Movie Maker will not work with ASF files and that may very well be the
issue.
