Default save to edit later

Hi, I tried for the first time using the Windows movie maker version 2.1.
I worked on a project at home using pc #1 there. I saved the project 2
ways.
1- "Saved as" ........then gave it a name in hopes of editing it & finishing
it later on pc#2
2- saved it as a movie to be viewed on my computer.
I then copied both of these files to a cd-rw and brought to pc#2 to work on
it there. when I opened the one to edit, I see a bunch of red 'x's in the
timeline where I had placed pictures there. Was it at all possible to edit
this project at another pc?

I am using mostly dig photos in this project. 2, animated gif's
PS. I know that with photostory 3, one can edit later but I had a hard time
with transitions in that program, that is why I thought I would try the WMM
instead.

WIndows sp2, xphome edition on a 3 yr old Dell pc
(Note: both pc #1 & #2 are the same in all specs)
thanks

A Photo Story 3 project file includes copies of all the source images....
but a Movie Maker project file doesn't. It just has links to the source
files.

You would need to include the images in the package of what you move from
one computer to another.

=================================
In order to edit a MovieMaker project file
on a different computer you must also
copy the...images, movies, music...then
you can right click the Red Xs and browse
for the files.
