I was wandering if I have to have a special Cd for saving movies. I mean I
have tried to save to a cd and it won't let me and I know that the CD is blank and it is not protected from being downloaded on to(if that is the correct term). DO I have to have a special CD or DVD to save my movies on? -- Thank you Soo Much |

Hi again DeeDee; I'm still on for a bit and I saw your post. You don't need
any 'special' cd to save your movie. Were you trying to save from within Movie Maker? My suggestion is to 'save movie to computer' to render your movie and save it as a video file in a folder of your choice. In the save wizard i'd probably choose 'High Quality NTSC' as the format so that its quality looks good on a media player....you would choose DV-AVI if you were going to make a DVD. Now, you are trying to put the movie on a CD. Are you just trying to burn the file to the cd or are you trying to burn a video cd (vcd)? If you make a vcd you could watch it on some dvd players....and if you save the 'image' file to the cd you can take it to other computers and play it or copy it to that computer. Assuming you just want the video file on the cd to play on other computers, you can do that from within Windows XP.... here is the short version to do that.... ha ha Insert a blank writable CD into the recorder Open 'My Computer' Click on the saved video file you want to copy to the CD Then under File and Folder Tasks (left side) click on 'Copy this file' In the Copy Items dialog box, click the CD recording drive, and then click 'Copy' In My Computer double click the CD recording drive, Windows displays a temporary area where the files are held before copied...just verify that file is the one you intend to coy to CD appearing under 'Files Ready to be Written to the CD' Under CD Writing Tasks, click WRITE THESE FILES TO CD...windows displays the writing wizard and just follow the instructions. I'm assuming your file isn't too big for the cd and that your computer has sufficient space. If you want to make a VCD or a SVCD, I always suggest AVS Converter (www.avsmedia.com) since that is what I use and know the best. Good luck again!
