Default Blank preview in Windows Movie Maker

When I try to record video from a VCR or simiar source in MM, (using the
capture video wizard) the preview window is always blank. After I tell it to
stop, the video & audio is there and it is OK. I use a Dazzle Digital Video
Creator 90 on USB, and standard RCA Video & Audio cables to connect to it. I
run WinXP SP2 Home Edition, have 1 GB RAM (128MB decicated to Video) and a
1.8 GHz processor.

It is likely due to the USB connection. Many have reported this same issue
(no preview video but capture is ok) when using USB. The Dazzle80 connects
to the computer via firewire and is IMO a better choice.

I can't seem to locate one that has the firewire connector. Is it still
available in stores? Is there another product which would work just as well?

My mistake, I don't use one myself, but I thought it was firewire.

Is there a USB video device out there that does show the preview on MM?

I see the preview with the Dazzle 80, the same as with my digital camcorder.

Is there a workaround so I can use the Dazzle 90?

As Papajohn said the Dazzle80 works but I don't know of any reason your
Dazzle90 wouldn't as well. Maybe check with Dazzle?
