How are you trying to capture, firewire/usb?
Have you added/removed any software/codecs/updates/hardware since it last
worked?
What is the hardware, camcorder?

Thanks for your response Graham
Im using a 1394 i cable to connect the camcorder to my PC ( windows XP )
Im using Windows Movie Maker programme that I have used in the past and is
worked ok. This error message keeps appearing everytime I start to transmit
the info from the Cam Corda to the PC.
It used to work fine
Im not sure if the problem is with the PC or the Sony Camcorda

Appreciate any advise you can offer please

Thanks

HAve you changed anything on the pc since it last worked, such as installed
new apps, codecs hardware or updates to any app, such as SP2 for XP?
Also read this and post back the results of the suggested tests.
