Any suggestions on a good product for a novice user to "plug and play" in
order to burn VCD's from a SONY Handycam? Just trying to share holiday movies with family in far away places (warm places). PC should be able to handle it from a hardware/resource point. Thx. -- HDFatboy |

Use a USB Port or Firewire. First transfer your movies from your handycam to
pc. I think that all sony handycam has a picture package software, install this application to your pc then click or push the button on your handycam "Burn your VCD" Please make sure that your handycam is on and detects properly by your pc. Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I'm doing something wrong with Sonic
MyDVD, I think. I'm connected using USB and Windows "beeps" when I connect the camcorder, but MyDVD doesn't recognize the device. When I go to record settings on MyDVD, I can not choose any of the dropdowns to change settings, except TV standard...? I can view the video on Windows Movie Maker, but it's very distorted, and as well, I can't change any settings there. Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year as well! -- HDFatboy "Gethelson Nicdao" wrote: > Use a USB Port or Firewire. First transfer your movies from your handycam to > pc. if it's a digital8 or mini-DV handycam, you should connect it with iLink
(firewire), not USB... to get full video quality. Movie Maker expects a firewire connection. -- PapaJohn Movie Maker 2 and Photo Story 3 website - http://www.papajohn.org MM2 Tips and Tricks: http://www.simplydv.co.uk/simplyBB/viewtopic.php?t=4693 Online Newsletters: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/PapaJohn/Index.aspx "HDFatboy" <HDFatboy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:55D1DF24-8BF8-40A9-9FE4-D3BD462C09F8@microsoft.com... > Thanks for the reply! Then after importing the video to Movie Maker you will have the option of
saving it as a DV-AVI (press CTRL+P to open the save movie wizard). The DV-AVI can be imported into MyDVD for burning to VCD. -Wojo -- Wojo's Web: http://www.remember-christopher.dostweb.com/Wojos_web/ Also Please visit..... http://www.remember-christopher.dost...m/christopher/ "PapaJohn (MVP)" <PapaJohn@CharterMI.net> wrote in message news:uXXwfeiDGHA.2664@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... > if it's a digital8 or mini-DV handycam, you should connect it with iLink > (firewire), not USB... to get full video quality.
