Default Tinny sounding audio upon import

I'm cutting together a bunch of clips shot in 30fps on a Fuji digital stills
camera with movie capability. When I play the individual clips in Windows
Media Player they sound ok. However, when I import to Windows Movie Maker
the sound is skewed toward the high end. Seems like some kind of sample rate
conversion mismatch. I'd like to dump to tape for archival purposes and
don't want to forever be stuck with the shrill audio.

Anybody else experience this problem and find a solution?

Thanks.

it's a codec issue.... you should convert the file, at least the audio
stream, to another one that sounds good in Movie Maker.

you can also play the clip in WMP and rip the audio into Movie Maker as a
narration file as it plays.... see the Importing Source Files > Audio and
Music page of my site....
