Default Unable to Capture

I am trying to capture video/audio from a Panasonic Palmcorder connected to
my PC (XPS400 w/XP Media Edition) via USB. I have loaded the driver for the
camcorder. I keep getting an error message that "the video device is already
in use by another application---please close that app and try again". When I
click OK it takes me to the video capture menu screen and the only device
listed is an Angel MPEG device and I'm not sure what that is. I've tried
multiple things to rectify this issue and still keep getting the same mesage
including disconnecting the USB cable before hitting the "Capture Video"
button...still the same message. It is apparently picking up something else
besides the camcorder as a device. The only other USB storage device I have
is a card reader which is built right into the computer.
Any ideas?
Thanks-

If you want to use usb then use the software which came with the cam.
Otherwise to use MM you'll need to use firewire, if the cam and pc support
this.

Thanks GH. It's a friend's camcorder and the only software is Movie
Messenger (which i did D/L onto my PC) and it seems to be only capable of
capturing short bits of video for use in e-mails Thanks for the imput
though.
