I installed the latest beta of Vista yesterday, and it has the beta of Movie
Maker included.... there's a screen shot of it on the Setup > Vista page of my website, with more info to roll out as I explore it. -- PapaJohn Movie Maker 2 and Photo Story 3 website - http://www.papajohn.org MM2 Tips and Tricks: http://www.simplydv.co.uk/simplyBB/viewtopic.php?t=4693 Online Newsletters: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/PapaJohn/Index.aspx |

Today it can't import an MPEG-2 file... says the codec needed isn't on my
system. So I'm sure it can't do the DVR-MS... but today's version is not a full beta 2, just a preview. Maybe tomorrow's. -- PapaJohn Movie Maker 2 and Photo Story 3 website - http://www.papajohn.org MM2 Tips and Tricks: http://www.simplydv.co.uk/simplyBB/viewtopic.php?t=4693 Online Newsletters: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/PapaJohn/Index.aspx "Bob [MVP]" <bob@nospam.org> wrote in message news:OY5WQViEGHA.2292@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > Can it import DVR-MS files? Yeah, that's what I said yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that... <sigh> It just seems ridiculous to me that Microsoft's own video editor STILL doesn't support their own DVR-MS format. As far as Movie Maker's [lack of] MPEG-2 support, well ... I'll save that rant for another day! ;-) Thanks for your reply. -- -Bob _______________________________ Microsoft MVP Windows XP Media Center Edition http://www.microsoft.com/ehome "PapaJohn (MVP)" <PapaJohn@CharterMI.net> wrote in message news:eQ%23AiZiEGHA.516@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... > Today it can't import an MPEG-2 file... says the codec needed isn't on my > system. Exactly! I don't really care about the whys (i.e., no hardware encoder for
WMV). Microsoft creates DVR-MS files, Windows Movie Maker should be able to edit them. Dan "Bob [MVP]" <bob@nospam.org> wrote in message news:Od%23SodiEGHA.1312@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... >> ...
