Default Windows Media Player

Cannot get sounds from Player
Recieve message saying no audio hardware installed

I suppose I'd start with this...

Open Windows Media Player (WMP)
Click on Tools
Click on Options
Click on Devices tab
Double click the Speakers tab
On the new menu - in the drop down list - check to make sure the default
audio device is your sound card

If there is nothing listed there then your next step would be to
update/install the drivers for your sound card.

Thanks for the reply to my Media Player problem.
Unfortunately this was not the solution.
I can remember being asked to hide all microsoft applications,but I cannot
remember whereabouts I ticked this box and I am wondering if this could be
the problem.
