i have windows xp home.upgraded to mp 10.now i get no cd or dvd burner has
been detected. can somebody please help me? thanks alot.

Can you still burn to your CD outside of WMP10?

What third party burning software do you have installed?

Remember that XP has no built in burning ability for DVDs.

I had the same problem and spent weeks trying to get the proper drovers back.
I ultimately had to replace my burner which I've just installed but haven't
tried yet. The best resource I found for the specific drivers I needed were
on c-net.com if that helps. My comp. manfuacture, Dell's driver were not
current enough to overide the problem. Also have not been able to get my DVD
writing software to work either!
