How do you burn a cd that you can add new songs to existing ones already
burned on when you are ready to?? I attend dance classes and would like to
add songs as they come up in class for practicing between classes. TIA

You can't add songs to a partially full disc and have them all be "seen" by
standalone players. While you can create a "multisession" disc, only the
last created session will be seen by any device that is not a computer.

For your purposes, it is better to collect all the songs and burn them all
at the same time. With the prices of blank CD media so cheap, this is the
easiest way to go.

Only one way. DO NOT finalize the CD after burning so you can add to it.
The only problem then is that it will NOT play on any CD player untill you
finalize it.

Depends what hardware you have. You need a good DVD/CD burner (Plextor, for
ex) and a reliable and forgiving CD player.
Try see if you can play tunes burned on ReWritable CDs; then you're set
since you can rewrite the mix.
Otherwise, do what NoNoDog and Byte say.
