Default burning to cdrw disk

why cant i burn to a cdrw disk they tell me to insert new disk but it i
haven't copy anything to it? can someone please help me

Probably you have to format the disk (or it is already formatted as "disk
drive") - even though you should be able to use it as a CD-R.

Are you trying to use it as a music disk? If yes, use CD-Rs instead.
You can use Nero or Roxio to format (packet write) a CD-RW, then
it will work just like another harddrive and you can drag&drop or
copy&paste to it and do not need to burn it.
