Default Reducing bitrate of Wave Sound files

Hi

I just acquired a large amount of wave sound files but the bitrate is huge:
> 1000kbps per song track. Is there a way I can reduce the bitrate of the

files to 128 or 192kbps? Also, can these files be converted to basic windows
media audio or mp3 files?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes and yes to your questions. Open the WAV file using the Sound Recorder.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder
Open the WAV file>click File>Properties>Convert Now
There you can change the Attributes of WAV files.

mp3 converter,convert cda wav wma mp1 mp2 to mp3

You'll lose audio quality in the process. Try a few compressions and check
which one sounds good for you on your fav. home listening device.
