Default Sound card

I recently reset windows on my pc, stupid i know, but now when i try to play
music it says, "cannot playback the audio stream: no audio hardware is
available, or the hardware is not responding". I have my speakers plugged in
but this comes up, can anyone help please? Many thanks in advance.

Default RE: Sound card

Its not your speakers, it is your soundcard. Go to:
Start>Run>type "devmgmt.msc" and press OK
Scroll down to "Sound, Video and Game Controllers"
and see if it has either a question (?) mark on it or
a quote (!) mark annotating that you have a problem
with it. Check your utility disks that came with your PC
to reinstall the drivers or go to the manufacturers website
to download them.
