I have checked other similar questions but my problem does not seem to
match others particularly. I cannot hear sounds! I have XP Home, SP2 all updates, and Creative Audigy ZD2 soundcard, I think I have latest drivers etc. I can "just" hear sounds from the computer speaker! When I boot up, the welcome sounds seem to briefly come from the loudspeakers, then stop, then revert to computer speaker only. I have tried the software with the package "Creative diagnostic" and it said that it could find no soundcard!!, and suggested taking it out, and putting it back in, which I duly did, with no luck! The soundcard is on the device manager, and on Aida software. there are no mute buttons on the volume control. the only thing I "may" have done, was put in a new wireless card, but that should not interfere. Any ideas please, and if more information required please ask. Thanks Colin |

Move the sound card in another PCI slot.
