Can anyone tell me how to convert a windows media audio file to mp3 format?

I purchased Super Plus ! Pack expecting to do the same but its giving me the
message wrong file format,I printed out the Plus Audio Converter Help File
which has a note at the bottom that a Third Party MP3 encoder is required
which is not included in Plus DME,
The Intervideo MP3 X Pack is suggested,but I,m hacked off at having to buy
another encoder as no mention was made on the Plus Super Pack box
