Default Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close

I get this message every time I use Windows media player 10. It is now
unusable!
What can I do to correct?

AppName: wmplayer.exe Appver: 10.0.0.3802 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 0003734e

The file msvcrt.dll that it refers to is a Dynamic Link Library which may
be corrupt. You can download a copy of it below. You can also do a
search of your harddrive, for on my harddrive it gave me 11 versions
after a search. Also, download a fresh copy of WMP10 and install it
overtop of your current copy of WMP. DO NOT delete/uninstall present
version for it is designed to be installed overtop of your old one.
