I recently bought Megastick 511.
My problem is the following, I downloaded the following firmware update from MSI's official site: ms5511V3.0.6withFM.zip Then, following the instructions in the manual, I pressed the button when connection the player to the computer. Without releasing it, I openend the device window at system and saw the Recovery something device was listed. So I realeased the button, unzipped the files in the firmware's zip file and overwrited the files on the MSI program's folder. Then, loaded the update program, saw that the version of the firmware to be installed was newer than the one on the player, so I proceded with the update, with the format option enabled. After the proccess finished, without any visible errors, the mp3 showed "connected" on the display. I disconected it (via software first), reconnected it and nothing, windows didn't detected, the mp3 was dead, nothing on the display. I reconected it with the "play" button pressed. Nothing. Tried on another USB, on another pc, both times with and without pressing the button, and nothing. Changed the battery even. Totally dead. Can anyone PLEASE help me solve this problem? I don't wanna lose all the money I used on this beauty. Thanks. |

First, make sure you have a fully charged battery in the stick and it
is turned OFF before connecting it to your PC's USB port. With the PC turned ON, connect the stick to the USB port and push the power button, and you should hear a "ding-dong" sound meaning the PC recognizes it and you can view the files thereon using Windows Explorer and play the sound files in WMP. Now you can copy files to or from it, just make sure you DO NOT format the stick for that will disable it from playing any sound or music, period....... and will only be good for an external drive/storage. -- XP-WNP Today is the first day of the rest of your life. I tried all that, byte, and windows doesn't see it. I can't turn it off... cause I can't turn it on to begin with! I formated it and it died, not even working as a file loader device because for windows it's dead too... |

You have now ONE choice, return it to where you purchased it as
a defective unit. Ask for a replacement or refund. -- XP-WNP Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
