Default No speaker detected

I recently upgraded my Windows98 to WindowsXP. When I did this the speakers
quit working, I went to Sound and Suido Devices Properties to make sure
everything was setup right. It said there was no audio device installed, and
now it wont let me intsall one. Any ideas????

Find the drivers for your sound card.

Unknown Devices:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/undevice.html

That should get you started in the right direction.

basically, windows xp has huge library for almost all existing devices...
so i guess the problem can be one of these...

1. your soundcard is very rare... undetecatable by xp..
in this case, you need to find out the maker of the s/c...
visit the web-site.. they probably provide the drivers...

2. your soundcard is out of order... might need to get a new one...
