Default WMP - half stars; advanced editor

Two questions:
1. Is there an extension that will allow windows media player to use half
stars for ratings? I find the lack of half stars means rating is a lot harder.

2. Most of my music files are on a removable hard drive and the advanced tag
editor is not available for files on removable media. Is there a way of
fixing this?

Not that I'm aware of but that's actually a great idea. When/if I see
someone involved then I'll let them know. That's truly a good idea in my
opinion though it could easily be done by just allowing yourself to vote
multiple times or perhaps having a 10 star system. 5 is just too small.

What happens if you mount it as a network drive? I've NEVER tried that but
it's worth a shot?

How to connect and disconnect a network drive in Windows XP:

Note that you can actually mount a local folder or a folder on your drive
(if it's shared of course) (even without a real network present) as a
networked drive.
