Default I want to transfer music and movies to my second hard-drive.

Is it possible to transfer 'My Documents' or even part of it, like 'my music'
or 'my pictures' and 'my movies' to my second hard-drive, and still have
Windows Media Player and other programs access the files properly, just like
they are still in 'my documents' on my 'C' drive. I don't want to attempt it
unless I'm sure that I won't cause any problems, or even lose my music or
pictures. My first hard-drive is getting full, but I still have lots of room
on drive 2. I'm especially worried that all my albums will turn into 'unknown
album'. I dragged and dropped some albums from a DVD to my desktop to
orgonize them, and then put them into 'my music', but when I opened Windows
Media Player, all their names were erased one at a time right before my eyes,
and it took forever to manually re-name them! If something like that happened
to all of my music files that are stored in my computer, I would never be
able to fix it!! Any advice on a safe way to move these files will be greatly
appreciated!!! Thank you!!!

My Documents and My Music folders are "Reserved" (default) titles that
Windows uses. You can create folders on your second harddrive and name
them just Documents and Music to avoid future conflict. Giving the folders
the same name/title could create problems when/if you need to reinstall
Windows or do a Repair install.

Right click on My Documents and choose properties. You should be able to
change the location of the My Documents Folder to whatever drive and folder
you want.

Default RE: I want to transfer music and movies to my second hard-drive.

Thru DEFAULT WMMP saves to the My Documents folder. You can create a folder
on your second Hard drive called Music Recorded (I have) and then in that
folder create a sub folder for each artist and type of music. I even have a
folder called "Before edits" where I put ALL songs copied from a CD or LP and
then I go to that folder and use a Music Editor to trim the dead space off of
the front and end of the track, amplify or decrease volumn and cut out foul
language etc, once the song is edited and complete, I save it to the finish
folder such as " Rock Pre 69" and then under a sub folder by the artist or
Group name. This way I know ALL music on my hard drive is cleaned, filtered,
edited to I don't use Mega bytes saving dead Intros and outros. etc. I use
WMMP 10 or Music Match or Winamp to then play my songs and I use Windows
Explorer to click on the song I want and it is added to my play list. I love
it, it is easy and I can create hours of Christmas Music or Swing or Rock or
whatever the needs arise. I have added a Third Hard drive where I keep a
mirror image of my secaond drive, so if Lightning should strike, hopefully
only one of the drives would be damaged and I would have my hundreds of hours
worth of work safely saved on an extra drive. Drives are cheap, Labor and
time isn't.

Your response is correct, but NOT recommended, to avoid future
conflict in case of a repair install or a SFC (System File Checker)
of XP.
