Lost sound on XP SP2

Hi
I have a Intel P4P800Se running winxp sp2. i suddenly lost all the sound if
i use mediaplayer or run my tv. However when i check the sound using soundmax
control panel, it works fine. how do i get my sound back?

If you have recently used Real Player, launch it again and ensure the audio
is not set to low or mute. It will override WMP.

I lost also the sound on my PC (XP sp2) although only for listening to
streaming music from a specific site (see message below to appear soon).
Could it be a similar problem? Please let me know if you find a solution.

Hello,

I discovered recently the wonderfull japaneese site
http://www.greatjsbach.net where it is possible to listen to all of JS Bach
music on streaming music.

I connect today again with my PC ( window XP) and can't get any sound any
more allthough the streaming japaneese application opened when I clik to
select and send a piece to listen seems to work.

What could have gone wrong since last time. I did download an streaming
moovie application ( canalplay ) since then ; Could this have modified my
settings and disabled something .

Could any one having had similar experience let me know what to do ?
