Yes, but why would you need to?

To have encrypted connection between two shared comp?
Is it not file sharing on VPN better for security? Well, yes in general...
With that said if your home LAN is behind a firewall then your protected from outside probes. If the home LAN includes a wireless segment using WPA encryption with a long random key precludes outside probes. Also if you run software firewalls on your PCs and configure the firewalls to only allow File & Print Sharing (F&PS) from specific IP addresses on your home LAN then that further protects your data. I think it comes down to a comfortable level of risk. Personally I use the above strategies on my home LAN and have no need to run an internal VPN. I do, however, use Secure Shell (SSH) for encrypted secure remote access to my home LAN from remote sites. Perhaps if you describe your network in a bit of detail and what your specific concerns are others could help further... -- Al Jarvi (MS-MVP Windows Networking) Please post *ALL* questions and replies to the news group for the mutual benefit of all of us...
