If you add a new computer to a network i know that you have to run the
network setup wizard on that computer - do you have to however re run the
wizard on every other computer that is already in the network - according to
the qizard you do.

my problem relates to adding a computer into a network and i run the wizard
- however i am not able to get access to the internet which was though
another computer. However for a period of time other computers could connect
to mine but after a time the connection would drop - this was both wireless
and wired and i would have to reboot to reiniate the connection.

i did not think you have to run the wizard on every other computer - but i
am having alot of problems with this computer and its connection - checked
the cable - ok- checked the nic on another network and that works fine ( i
thought it was the nic- but maybe not)

so has anyone come across before having to re run the network setup wizard ?

If the new PC is set up the same as the other computers then it's redundant
to re-run the wizard on the existing computers.

The messages from the Network Setup Wizard are misleading:

1. You don't have to run the Network Setup Wizard at all. You can
make all of the required network settings manually.

2. If you run the Wizard on a new computer, you don't have to re-run
it on computers that are already set up. In fact, you shouldn't run
it.

It's hard to say what's causing problems on the new computer. I'd
start by downloading and installing the latest network card drivers on
that computer.

I am stumpped - becuase all of a sudden the nic stoped working and the other
nic stopped working too - as i detailed below - so i reinstalled windows xp
and i ran the network connection wizard - but i cant connect to the internet
via the internet sharing computer- arrrgggghhh !!!!
