Default Who is on my network ?

Hi,

I've been thrown into the network abyss at work.
I'm running a peer to peer network - no server. Mostly win xp machines.

Can somebody tell me of a command (windows or dos) that tells me who is on
my network ?

Also, I think there is a command to tell who the DHCP 'master' is ???

Thanks, Jen.

There is no DHCP "master" - the first DHCP server that answers a query for
an address gets to serve the address to the client. The address of the DHCP
server will be shown in an IPCONFIG /ALL printout.

Richard,

Thanks for your reply. And this is true. I confused "server" with "master".

I recall from a couple of years ago that I was able to tell by 'name' which
PC's were active on the network and which was the DHCP
server. Or perhaps I found it by using the network adapter addresses.

Do you know of a way ?

Thanks again, Jen

Sorry, I'm not sure what you need. I am pretty sure it's not a native
Windows tool, probably a utility or such that you found elsewhere.
