Himanshu ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Congratualtions on taking the correct troubleshooting step to see if the issue does or does not happen in Safe Mode. Since it does not happen in Safe Mode, the next troubleshooting step is to identify what is the difference between Safe Mode and Normal Mode that is causing the issue. The two main tools to employ in this kind of troubleshooting (known as clean boot troubleshooting) are System Configuration Utility (msconfig) and Device Manager (devmgmt.msc). However, just going by experience, the issue you describe is most likely caused by your Display Adapter driver. It is either damaged or out dated. I suggest you try booting to the "Enable VGA Mode" option. If your icons appear on the desktop then the only thing that is changed is you did not try to load your damaged / out dated Display Adapter driver. You can then check your system manufacturer's support site for an updated driver. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;315222 http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;310353 http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;316434 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
