Default can't log on to the domain

I have a new windows xp pro box and i can't add this computer to the domain.
I right clicked on my computer and click on property and then click on the
computer name tab and then change it from workgroup to domain. i added my
domain and it asked me for user name and password and waited to see if it let
me on to the domain. For some reason, it gave me beck an error message. The
Message was:

Computer Name Changes

The following erro occured attempting to join the domain "proresidential"

Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using
more than one name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to
the server or shared resource and try again.

I am pissed off and tired. I tried everything possible. I have added three
new pcs to the domain with no errors.

I have windows 2003 SBS standard edition. this pc is the default gateway,
dns server and dhcp server. I have to network cards. One for the internet and
one for the local area network. I believe my DNS is setup properly, but then
again who knows. Anyhow, please respond. I need help.

Default Re: can't log on to the domain

You are trying to join a domain where you already have a connection under a
different user account to a shared network drive or printer, thus the
message about multiple connections. To disconnect all currently open
shares, close all programs, then open up a command prompt and type the
following command:

net use * /d

Then try to join the domain. It should work fine then.
