Setup: workgroup (STUDIO) with three pc's wired to a Netgear switch, this
switch plugs into a Linksys 54G wireless router for sharing internet connection and for allowing access for the downstairs wireless notebook. The problem I am having is with one (ALF) of the computers (wired to netgear switch --> Linksys router) I will suddenly get pages that just will not load, takes forever, then get the message that the page cannot be found. It is only on this one pc - The network card in this pc is an Intel Pro/1000 CT connection. I have checked the event viewer and have the following errors: ID:8021 - I have checked some of the issues in this ID, and there are no outages, no name resolution problems and I don't know about the rest. NOTE: I only lose the internet/browser and Outlook/email, but I can still see my other pc's on the net. What do I need to check for? The other one is: ID:4226 On this issue I have checked for viruses and spyware, and this machine is clean. Another entry is ID: 32003 On this issue, the network cable is securely plugged, memory is way more than adequate (1gig) The only other one is an ID:1002 - which due to the date of this one was around the time we were installing the wireless internet antenna for our wireless internet.... A reboot clears up the problem and connectivity for the net is re-established. None of the other pc's on the net have had this problem. Only the ALF computer. Please help me as to where to start looking for a fix to keep this pc from losing the internet connection! This happens about once or twice a day, and then maybe for not a day at a time. Please advise, and let me know if I need to give more information. Also, when this problem occurs (loss of internet connectivity) there is no red x on anything, not notifications of any kind of failure... only that the pages cannot be found. TIA, Leef |
