You need a cross-over cable and run the network wizard on
both computers to setup the network. The transfer will be very fast at 100 Mbps. A standard cable can be used if you have a hub, router or switch. -- The people think the Constitution protects their rights; But government sees it as an obstacle to be overcome. some support http://www.usdoj.gov/olc/secondamendment2.htm "Alex H" <somone@somewhere.com> wrote in message news:%23y3MzGI5FHA.2524@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... | Hi i need to transfer abouit 10GB of data from one laptop to another | | Both running XP Pro | | Whats the best way please. | | can i just connect with straight throough cable, set both to same IP range, | make the source drive as shared and then copy the data over? | | Thanks | | A|lex | | |
