I want to start a service that is for adsl autoconnection before I autologin
to windows (with the MS powertoy) so that when the explorer shell comes up, I am already connected... is this possible? THANKS -- -- HOPE -- Desire and expectation rolled into one. Ambrose Bierce1842-1914 |

| I dont want to use a router... | | Can I delay the shell from loading? | | -- Why ? It allows to to share the one WAN connection with upto 253 LAN nodes that can include any TCP/IP comopliant device including game boxes such as the Playstation/2 or XBox. Additionally such a device has simplistic or a full implementation of a FireWall and will grreatly add to your protection. If you use PPPoE as the connector for DSL then you won't need any PPPoE connector on the PC, the Router does it all. -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html http://www.ik-cs.com/got-a-virus.htm |

If you're running XP PRO you might try setting Group Policy (gpedit.msc) -
Computer Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> System --> Logon and set the policy that says "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon." I'm not sure that this will work with the DSL autoconnection, though it works well with standard network connections, and is worth a try. -- "kenny" <dot@net.biz> wrote in message news:OPbnaJy6FHA.1864@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... >I want to start a service that is for adsl autoconnection before I >autologin to windows (with the MS powertoy) so that when the explorer shell >comes up, I am already connected... > is this possible? > > THANKS > > -- > -- > HOPE -- Desire and expectation rolled into one. > Ambrose Bierce1842-1914 > |

Because you have to keep configuring routers all the time if you change
applications all the time... and I do! Furthermore I am sure there is a way to do this without getting more hardware -- -- HOPE -- Desire and expectation rolled into one.
