I am running 30 XP SP2 tablet pc's
They are all built from the same image and as thus are identical in all but name. 25 Are running smoothly but 5 keep dropping the network connection and saying you are now working offline. The users are still physically connected to the LAN but much impeded in their work. I am supporting clients on a 4000 user windows 2003 Domain, over a gigabit ethernet, multi site network. All machines are RJ45 connected and all the hardware is less than a year old. Ports are set to Auto and power saving is disabled I have looked all over and found references to other users with the same issue but no fixes Can anyone help before I lose my sanity ? (and my job?) How do they differ from the other 25? How are they the same as each other? Define "dropping the connection". Define "still physically connected to the LAN but much impeded in their work". It's possible that there have been other users with the same issue, but if you don't provide some details, you will become just another one of those. Or we can work on this together, and maybe both learn something. -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
