I've got a problem.
I have a new laptop (XP SP2) that I wish to network to my desktop (XP SP2) via a wireless router (Netgear MR814v2). I have a Motorola Surfboard Modem which is connected as follows: Modem...ethernet cable...router...ethernet cable...desktop. Now, both pc's can access the web, no problem (the laptop via wireless card, the desktop via the ethernet to modem via router setup) & this is fine with a great connection from the laptop). The problem is that I want both pc's to be able to utilise each others hard drives & I want the laptop to have access to the printer & scanner I have attached (via USB2) to the desktop but no matter what I try to do using the Wizard, the 2 will not communicate. I only get the following message: "NETWORK NAME" is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found. All help gratefully accepted. |
