We are a Architecture and engineering firm with 12 production staff. We just
updated several workstations and are considering replacing our current print server with one of the older production machines (yet newer than our current print server). Are there any reasons not to put XP Pro on a Pentium 7 733 for use as our print server. Thank you. |

With twelve staff you will have problems if more than ten try to connect. http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;314882 The PIII-733 will work fine. Make sure you have at least 512 MB of ram and a at least a few GB of free hard drive space if many people are printing at the same time. Kerry |

You will be fine when you XP Pro on your Pentium 3/733 because I'm running
it on my P3 450mhz with 576 mb of ram. It would be best to maximize your memory size. XP Pro will take advantage of your system performance. The OP will not be fine. As many people have posted XP Pro will work on a
PIII-733. What may cause problems is XP Pro's 10 incoming connection limit when there are 12 users trying to use the printer.
