Hi at all
I have a PC with OS : win xp (SP2) I wrote a software that starts automatically when I sswitch on the PC so the access to Xp is permit directly to the administrator without password (I know that it's the only manner to lunch a software on PC that works alone) In that situation can I permit the access from the network with Login and Password? It's possible to permit a different access for different network user? TIA |

Spingo, Windows NT, 2000, and XP provide for a default, non-GUI authenticated login, called by some "auto admin login". If you set the admin login account and password in the registry, when you restart the computer, it will automatically login, and execute an unattended login script. This is used by some corporations for mass installs and maintenance. If the auto admin login has been setup, holding down an appropriate key combination (either Shift or Ctrl, IIRC), bypasses the auto login, and allows you to enter a non default (ie login as you would normally). Otherwise, you'd be stuck with a computer doing nothing but executing an unattended login script, and restarting. -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
