I need help/tips/suggestions on the best way to network multiple locations
without everyone having access to ALL access on each others computer. Can we set up a specific "shared drive" to share a database and certain folders? -- lf |

If you have Windows 2000, or Windows XP Pro, you can have shared folders, and specific people can have access to different folders. With Windows XP Home, anything that you share to anybody will be accessible to everybody. If you're just talking about only sharing specific folders to everybody, with the remainder shared to nobody, you can do that with any operating system. Just identify what specific folders you wish to share. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/06/file-sharing-under-windows-xp.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0...indows-xp.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
