I've got 2 systems at home connected to DSL through a NAT router. One system
is a Win2k box. The other system is a WinXP Home box. Every now and then while I am browsing the web with IE on the WinXP box a message pops up that says: "No connection to the Internet is currently available. To view Internet content that has been saved on your computer, click Work Offline." with 2 buttons on it "Work Offline" and "Try Again" This message is a blatant lie. The Win2k box continues to function fine during these episodes, my connection is fine. If I click on "Try Again" I can resume what I was doing as if nothing happened. The connection works fine for other things, it only happens to IE. What is IE doing to make it think there is no connection? Is there a service popping up this message that I can disable? This is getting very annoying. |

Well I finally found something in the Microsoft KB about this and changed
the recommended registry settings. Now to see if the message goes away... Well, it's still popping up now and then. Anybody know what else could cause
this and how to fix it?
