Hello....
I am running eMule on a computer that is a client in the windows ICS (internet connection sharring) and I am trying to make it connect normally so that the arrows on the emule connection globe are Green instead of Yellow (low priority). I have tried various configurations as well as experiments with PORTTUNNEL http://www.steelbytes.com and Portmapper http://www.analogx.com/contents/down...rk/pmapper.htm But it seems I am not able to configure these correctly ... can anyone help me out? the first PC is connected directly to the internet (no hubs or routers) and has only the XPSP2 firewall on.... THANKS |

What's the reason you want to keep ICS? You'd have a much easier time with this with a router, and you'd have more security. |

For each application wouldnt I have to open the routers ports ??? I test
applications 100 a day, because its part of what I have to do.. if I have to keep fiddling with router settings, its a nightmare! whats the price range? A good model I can get? How about one that is Upnp compatible? Is that useful? I looked at some stores online in my country (europe) and all they had was expensive ones or ones that have a dsl modem integrated.... Well, you need to have something protecting your network, and you get very little with ICS. Most consumer grade routers have a web interface that's easy to use. > > whats the price range? Linksys and Netgear are available in Europe, and are probably decent enough for your purposes. Look on the manufacturer's websites for model numbers you like and then look around to see where they're available. > > > > "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" > <lanwench@heybuddy.donotsendme.unsolicitedmail.aty ahoo.com> wrote in > message news:Oafhh2Q8FHA.4084@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... >> >> >> In news:ufE6iTP8FHA.3660@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl, >> kenny <nope@at.all> typed: >>> Hello.... >>> >>> I am running eMule on a computer that is a client in the windows ICS >>> (internet connection sharring) and I am trying to make it connect >>> normally so that the arrows on the emule connection globe are Green >>> instead of Yellow (low priority). >>> I have tried various configurations as well as >>> >>> experiments with PORTTUNNEL http://www.steelbytes.com >>> >>> and Portmapper >>> http://www.analogx.com/contents/down...rk/pmapper.htm >>> >>> But it seems I am not able to configure these correctly ... >>> >>> can anyone help me out? >>> >>> >>> the first PC is connected directly to the internet (no hubs or >>> routers) and has only the XPSP2 firewall on.... >>> >>> >>> THANKS >> >> OT, but I think ICS is a mess, and is best avoided, especially as >> inexpensive router/firewall appliances are so easily obtained these >> days.
