Have a client with several office PC's connected to a router with DSL
service. One and only one of the PC's on a daily basis loses the ability to access the Internet but can still access resources on the LAN. Windows XP Pro SP2 on all pc's. Router is DLINK DI-624 w/latest firmware, DHCP for PC and static IP for Broadband conection. INternet access comes back when PC is rebooted and will be OK until later in the day and again will drop off. Have changed out the router, cables, NIC and thouroughly checked for viruses, trojans and spyware. Checked for any strange services running as well as any strange entries in the startup configs (MSCONFIG and Registry HKLM RUN). Any thoughts are appreciated. |

if the machine still have access to the other network resources, it might be
a problem with DNS not knowing how to interpret internet addresses. - Check the connection to the dns server - Can it be that there is a software that controls access to the internet? like the ones for parents controlling to what sites and what times the kids connect to the network. hmm ask your parents :-p - check the logs to see if there is problem with the network or services. hope th shelps, RT "rokitrik" <rokitrik@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:797C2968-E309-4007-9607-873751B4065D@microsoft.com... > Have a client with several office PC's connected to a router with DSL > service.
