Default Folder Permission Setting with or Without domain

Hi,

When i was using win xp Pro within a domain, the security & permission
setting for a file or folder can be controlled for each user within the
domain or local user account and have the attributes for Read, write, and so
on.... But, when running win xp without a domain
(workgroup), the setting is tottally different. How can i have the same
setting as within a domain even i am not joining a domain?

Edward,

Are you perhaps looking at XP Home, or XP Pro with Simple File Sharing enabled?
SFS won't give the same abilities. Classical File Sharing (available only on
Windows XP Pro with SFS disabled) should, however.

In a workgroup, each XP Pro computer maintains its own list of user
accounts and the permissions on shared disks/folders. Ron Lowe and I
