Hello All Networking gurus,
I have a simple network setup, wherein I have a laptop(wireless) and desktop(hard wired) connected to a router. The router is connected to the internet. I can share drives from either computers. Inspite of this when I check in the "my network place", I only see the current computer. I dont see the other computer. I think it has something to do with workgroup/domains. Can some one tell me what these(workgroup/domain) are? Is there a link which explains these concepts? Thanks Prashant H. K. |

Here is an excellent network troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it and it will pinpoint the problem area(s). http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm And here are some more links to help you understand networking: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/ http://www.bcmaven.com/networking/faq.htm http://www.bcmaven.com/networking/myths.htm http://www.wown.info/ http://www.ezlan.net/index.html http://www.howtonetworking.com/default.htm Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!"
