Default Using Windows XP as a Router.

Hello,

I would like to use a machine with XP as a router since i dont have a router
for the time beeing.

The situation is this: I have one pc with xp SP2 that has an dsl modem
atatched to it and connected to the internet. In my network all computers
have static ip's and the computer with the modem is the gateway for all
other computers. (i have ics active in the computer with xp so tha the other
computers in the network can acces the internet). I dont want to use IIS but
instead i want to redirect calls on port 80 to another computer inside the
network, as well other ports to other computers in the network. Basicaly
what i want is that my machine with XP (the one that does the ICS) work as a
router - forwarding ports to the network. Notice that the XP firewall is
active for both nic (ethernet and dsl modem).

Thanks.

Joao,

For using your computer as a router, most of the folks here are most familiar
with ICS. If you find any other solutions, though, we would appreciate hearing
about what you find. We work here to learn, just as you post here for that
purpose.

You can map ports (redirect services) with ICS - See:
