If the problem is LSP / Winsock / TCP/IP corruption, try this link:

What makes you think the problem is with your TCP/IP stack? Where did
you see this?

Lets start simple. Let us know what errors you are getting, what
software you are using, and other info that might be useful. If you are
trying FTP via the browser then you might try something like SmartFTP
which is much better. You also might try other FTP sites as a test,
there are a ton of them out there.

Can you browse? Browsing uses your TCP/IP stack. If you can browse
then you are likely barking up the wrong tree. In any case,
troubleshooting a TCP/IP stack is something I have rarely done in XP.
Windows 9X had these types of problems all the time.

Hi
I have been trying to use both WS ftp and ftp Commander mostly to try and
access own website but have tried other sites supplied with ftp commander (so
I am not just getting the address wrong). Windows firewall is turned off.
Mccaffee firewall has the ftp programs set to enable send / receive andthe
box allowing port 21 to be used has been ticked. Passive access mode has been
selected and both default and binary settings tried.
ftp commander tries to connect for ages eventually message "winsock error
10061" comes up.
In ws ftp I get error message "connecting to 83.170.64.86:21 connect
failure".
..
The TCP?IP idea was based on reading other ftp connect problems on web -
basically I am at the clutching at straws stage!
Any ideas please!
