We have a small network 4 cpus - peer2peer.
I'm replacing the main cpu everyone connects to which is running Win2000 with a new Dell running Xp Pro. How do I change or setup the ICS on the new dell so that everyone shares its internet connection? I already used Network Wizard to get it on the network as a workstation, so that I could copy the files to it from the old Win2000 cpu, and in the setup I had selected "This cpu connects to the Inet thru another cpu's internet connection". Thanks all replies. |

ICS in Windows XP works just like ICS in Windows 2000. The steps are probably even mostly the same. The only big difference between the two in this regard is that XP has a native firewall which can be a pain to deal with sometimes. Here is an article that will walk you through this process... http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;306126 -- http://www.americantechie.com |
