Why does my Internet Explorer close?

When I get onto the internet, it takes about an average of 4 minutes and it
will automatically close. A message comes up that says "Internet Explorer
has encountered a problem and needs to close." Then I press the Don't Send
button and try again. The problem has been happening for a while now. What
can I do to fix it?

Scan with your anti-virus program. Also run scans with your spyware and
adware applications. Make sure your firewall is updated and running.
