After having almost given up trying to Network 2 XP computers together I came
across your threads about Windows SVP1 firewall and Norton Firewall disabling and I was able to get past the "You may not have permission..." block and after just a a few more attempts, get them to regonize each other on the network. Hallejuliah! I don't understand why XP Service Pack 1 defaults back to having firewall checked after each system restart and I must again uncheck but no solution is perfect. Often I also don't have success with both computers showing up on the network but I'm sure with your helpful posts- Steve- I'll easily uncover a solution, instead of aimlessly searching in the dark. THANKS FOR YOUR HELPFUL POSTS.
