Default client computer not show name when connected via direct connection

I have several windows 2K pro machines that connect to a win2k server
via direct serial conntections. When connected, the 2k Pro machines
show the client computer name on the server in the connection located
on the lower right hand side (double computer icon). I've been
upgrading these machines to winXP but when they connect to the server I
can't tell which client PC connection they are. The icon just shows the
IP and type of connection but not the client name. How do I get the
client name back.

thanks
